One of the disciples of Elder Ephraim of Katounakia, Fr. Ephraim of Simonopetra, talks about a miraculous healing of his spiritual father performed by the Virgin Mary:
“At some point in the life of Papa Efraim Katounakiotis, he suffered from eczema… it covered his entire body…
Two doctors arrived from the Hospital in Thessaloniki and said: ‘We should get him to Thessaloniki, to the hospital!’
When Papa Efraim heard this, he became depressed because he’d never left the Holy Mountain and didn’t want to.
Then he went and fell down before the icon of Our Lady and said:
‘Most Holy Mother Of God, you’ll make me well, not the doctors! … You promised… You’re our doctor!’
He was suddenly cured in a few moments…
Why? Because he spoke to Our Lady with such faith and boldness… And Our Lady worked her miracle…”
